Intense military confrontations erupted during the past night hours in the vicinity of Al-Tashrifat and the Republican Palace in Taiz city.
A military source stated that National Army forces repelled a surprise attack launched by the Houthi group, which was supported by intense artillery shelling.
The Houthi attack coincided with artillery fire on various positions on the eastern front of the city, in an attempt to breach the defensive lines of the government forces.
The source reported that National Army forces showed great resilience in repelling the attack, using their medium and heavy weapons to block the advance of the militants toward the strategic positions in the area.
