The United Kingdom has strongly condemned the recent threats issued by the Houthi group against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including threats to prevent ships from transiting through the Red Sea, describing them as escalatory actions that endanger regional security and stability.
In an official statement released on Wednesday, the UK Foreign Office said these provocations risk further destabilizing the region, pose a serious threat to freedom of navigation in the Red Sea, and undermine international and regional efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace in Yemen.
The Foreign Office reaffirmed the United Kingdom’s solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its regional partners in confronting these threats, expressing its full support for the security and stability of the region.
It also called on the Houthi group to immediately cease all escalatory actions and commit to the path of de-escalation.
