12 Israeli Airstrikes Hit Hudaidah Port, Targeting Three Vital Piers

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
Israeli and Houthi-affiliated media reported that 12 concentrated airstrikes targeted three main piers at Hudaidah Port on Yemen’s Red Sea coast in the west of the country.
The Houthi military spokesperson stated that air defenses responded to the wave of attacks and managed to “disrupt enemy aircraft and force some formations to withdraw.”
For his part, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz stressed that the strikes would continue “to deter the Houthis and make them pay a heavy price for any attack targeting Israel,” noting that hitting Hudaidah is part of a plan to ensure the continuation of the air and naval blockade against the group.
According to Israel Army Radio, the raids came in response to a series of Houthi attacks that included launching missiles and drones toward Israel. Channel 12 quoted a security source as saying the direct objective was to disable the port and prevent the Houthis from rehabilitating it, describing it as a corridor for Iranian military supplies.
The Israeli military’s Arabic spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, had issued a prior warning before the strikes, publishing a map marking the target zones—a rare move.
The escalation follows the Houthis’ announcement that they had launched four drones at southern Israel, three of which targeted Ramon Airport in Eilat, in what the group’s military spokesperson Yahya Saree described as a “response to genocide and starvation crimes against Palestinians in Gaza.”
In recent months, Israeli airstrikes on Yemen have intensified. One such strike last week killed more than 40 people in Sana’a. Houthi leaders have affirmed that they will continue to target Israel and vessels linked to it “until the blockade on Gaza is lifted.”
