Taiz Police Bust Forgery Ring Disguised as Printing Shop, Seize 250 Fake Documents

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The Public Funds Investigation Department in Taiz Governorate announced the discovery of a document forgery operation that had been operating under the cover of an “advertising and printing” shop in the Al-Jahmaliya area, following a thorough investigation and close coordination with the Public Funds Prosecution.
During an inspection visit to the department, Taiz Police Chief Brig. Gen. Mansour Al-Akhali praised the efforts of the investigative team and their success in the case, stressing that this achievement marks an important step in combating forgery crimes and protecting public trust.
Col. Abdul Sattar Al-Hilali, head of the Public Funds Investigation Department, explained that the raid led to the arrest of one worker caught red-handed attempting to forge a national ID card using specialized software. Authorities also seized more than 250 forged or suspected forged documents, including personal and military ID cards, birth certificates, customs declarations, vehicle ownership cards, and driver’s licenses, along with the tools of the crime—printers and official seals.
Al-Hilali added that investigations are underway with the suspects, led by the main accused (J.Q.S.), in preparation for completing legal procedures and referring them to the competent prosecution.
