Netanyahu: Israeli Strikes Hit Houthi Bases and Terrorist Facilities
Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the airstrikes carried out by Israeli fighter jets in Yemen “struck the Houthis at facilities and bases containing a large number of terrorists, as well as other facilities.” He vowed to continue striking any entity that threatens Israel, wherever it may be.
In a supportive statement, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said his forces bombed Houthi camps in Sana’a and other locations, including their media unit. He confirmed that the attack was a painful blow to the group and that Israel’s “long arm” would reach to combat any terrorist threat.
A military statement from the Israeli Occupation Army indicated that the strikes were a response to Houthi attacks against Israel. The targets included military camps, the headquarters of the Military Media Directorate, and fuel storage sites. The statement affirmed that Tel Aviv would continue to attack any threat to its citizens, regardless of its location.
According to Israel’s Channel 12, the raids targeted camps, fuel storage complexes, and the media department. Channel 14 reported that the air force targeted two missile launch platforms, the headquarters of military spokesperson Yahya Saree, and a Houthi camp for the first time.
This is the first Israeli attack since similar strikes on August 28, which resulted in the death of the head of the Houthi government and several of his ministers. Over the past few days, the Houthis have continued to launch missile and drone attacks on targets inside Israel.
