Yemen Condemns Israeli Attack on Doha and Affirms Full Support for Qatar

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Yemen strongly condemned the Israeli attack that targeted the Qatari capital, Doha, on Tuesday, stressing that it represents a blatant violation of the sovereignty of the State of Qatar and a clear breach of international law and the United Nations Charter.

In a statement, the ministry said: “This aggression undermines regional and international efforts aimed at stopping the war against the Palestinian people and creates obstacles to peace efforts and the achievement of a just and comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian issue.”

The Republic of Yemen reaffirmed its full support for the State of Qatar in its sovereign right to preserve its security and the safety of its citizens and residents on its territory. It also called on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to assume its responsibilities regarding these violations and to hold the perpetrators accountable.

In an unprecedented move, Israel on Tuesday targeted leaders of the Hamas movement in the Qatari capital, Doha, with an airstrike, the results of which and the fate of those targeted remain unclear. However, Qatari media confirmed that Hamas’s delegation survived the assassination attempt.

Shortly afterward, Israel announced its responsibility for the attack, which targeted a meeting discussing U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza.
