Houthis Claim Targeting of Israeli Airport with Three Drones

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The Iran-backed Houthi group announced on Monday that it carried out a military operation targeting Ramon Airport in Israel with three drones.
The group’s military spokesperson said in a statement, “We targeted Lod Airport in Jaffa, Ramon Airport in Umm al-Rashrash, and a sensitive target in ‘Dimona’ in occupied Palestine, and they successfully achieved their goals.”
Earlier, the Israeli occupation army had reported that two travelers were injured by a drone explosion in the arrival hall of Ramon Airport in the Negev, southern Israel. The army also spoke of “serious errors” that prevented the drone from being detected.
Israel’s Army Radio, citing a military investigation, reported that “serious errors” had prevented the drone, launched by the Houthi group from Yemen, from being detected and intercepted after it entered Israeli airspace and struck its target.
The radio mentioned a “comprehensive investigation within the air force to determine the serious malfunction that prevented the drone from being detected and intercepted” and reported that two injured individuals were taken to Yosiftal Hospital in Eilat.
In a preliminary investigation, the Israeli occupation army said that its defense systems had detected the drone that targeted Ramon Airport but did not classify it as hostile. The army added that there was no indication of a technical malfunction in the current detection systems and that a thorough investigation into the drone attack would be conducted.
