Taiz Records Sharp Rise in Epidemic Cases and Deaths This Year

Taiz governorate has witnessed a significant surge in infections and deaths caused by widespread epidemics since the beginning of this year, with a total of 9,922 cases recorded, according to official statistics from the governorate’s Health Office.

The Health Office’s media director, Tayseer Al-Samie, said in a post on his official Facebook page that cases of acute watery diarrhea and cholera had reached 5,695, with 10 deaths reported from these diseases.

He also noted that 2,508 cases of various fevers had been recorded, including dengue fever, chikungunya, and West Nile fever, while measles cases rose to 1,609, causing another 10 deaths.

Al-Samie added that health authorities in Taiz are continuously monitoring the epidemiological situation and taking necessary measures to curb the spread of these diseases, in an attempt to contain the escalating health crisis.
