The Emergency Committee of the Yemen Football Association has decided to terminate the services of the head coach of the youth national team, Captain Qais Mohammed Saleh. The committee extended its thanks and appreciation for his efforts during his time with the team.
According to the committee’s decision, Captain Samer Fadhel has been appointed as the new technical director for the youth national team. The team is currently continuing its domestic training camp in the city of Lawdar in Abyan governorate in preparation for upcoming events.
The Yemeni team will compete in the inaugural Gulf Youth Cup, scheduled to be held in the Qatari capital, Doha, from September 20 to October 3, 2025. Yemen has been drawn in Group A alongside Qatar, the UAE, and Oman.
The Yemeni team will also participate in the Asian qualifiers as part of Group B, which includes teams from Laos, Kyrgyzstan, Cambodia, Guam, and Pakistan. The qualifiers are set to take place in Kyrgyzstan from November 22 to 30.
