Yemeni Central Bank Suspends Licenses of 10 Violating Exchange Companies

On Monday, the Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen, Ahmed Ghaleb, issued a decision to suspend the licenses granted to 10 violating exchange companies and establishments.

This decision was based on a field inspection report submitted by the Banking Supervision Sector.

The companies and establishments whose licenses were suspended include: Saleh Al-Aroui Exchange Company, Al-Hubaishi Establishment, Abu Qusay and Al-Shaghdari, Waheeb Al-Kurimi, Al-Sharabi, Al-Harazi, Al-Shaqiri, Khalifa Saeed, and Al-Akhdar Cash.

This move is expected to regulate the exchange market and aims to curb violations that could contribute to the deterioration of the national currency. The Central Bank Governor had already suspended more than 15 other exchange companies and establishments in recent days.
