Bus Drivers in Taiz Urge “Safer Gas Company” to Increase Fuel Quota to Ensure Transport Stability

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

Bus and vehicle drivers in the city of Taiz have appealed to the Director General of the Yemeni Gas Company in Safer to deliver the full officially approved gas quota without reduction, in order to supply major consumers and vehicles across ten districts of the city.

The drivers emphasized the importance of providing seven gas tankers distributed through three facilities: two tankers for the Sasco Cars Company, two for Sasco’s major consumers division, and three for the Taiz distribution hub.

These demands come amid a major shift from gasoline to gas-powered vehicle systems due to the significant price difference, which necessitates an increase—not a reduction—in gas allocations for major consumers and vehicles by the Safer Gas Company.

This appeal reflects an urgent need to stabilize gas supplies in Taiz, particularly given the city’s difficult economic and humanitarian conditions, which directly impact transportation and essential services.
