Egypt Agrees to Enroll Yemeni Students in Its Schools Starting from the 2025–2026 Academic Year

Yemen Monitor – Newsroom:
Egypt has officially agreed to allow Yemeni students to enroll in its public and private schools across all educational levels starting from the 2025–2026 academic year.
The decision was announced during a meeting between Yemen’s Ambassador to Egypt, Khaled Bahah, and Egypt’s Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab Affairs, Ambassador Ihab Fahmy. The meeting addressed issues concerning the Yemeni community in Egypt and discussed ways to enhance educational cooperation between the two countries.
The two sides also discussed preparations for the upcoming ninth round of the Yemeni-Egyptian Strategic Dialogue, scheduled for November. Additionally, they reviewed arrangements for the anticipated meeting of the Yemeni-Egyptian Higher Committee, which was agreed to be held following the meeting between Presidents Rashad al-Alimi and Abdel Fattah el-Sisi during the Eighth Session of the World Urban Forum on November 4, 2024.
The talks also touched on regional developments, particularly in the Red Sea, amid ongoing threats by the Houthi group to maritime navigation. Discussions also covered Egypt’s efforts to broker a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to the besieged population under dire humanitarian conditions, according to the official news agency.
