Trump Threatens Houthis with Intensified Airstrikes Targeting Leaders and Vital Facilities

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced the launch of a series of large-scale airstrikes targeting Houthi positions in Yemen, confirming that the strikes are aimed at the group’s leadership, command and control facilities, and ammunition depots.

In his remarks, Trump emphasized that military operations would continue until Houthi threats to navigation in the Red Sea come to an end. He stated that the strikes are intended to protect U.S. and commercial vessels and ensure freedom of navigation in international maritime corridors.

The U.S. president affirmed that his country will continue to use “overwhelming lethal force” against the Houthis until they cease their attacks. He also warned Iran against its continued support of the group, stressing that the US will hold Tehran accountable for any escalation in the region.

The US has been intensifying its airstrikes on Yemen, targeting what it claims are Houthi positions, with the goal of pressuring the group to halt its attacks in the Red Sea.

Since March 15, the U.S. has launched hundreds of airstrikes on Yemen, resulting in the deaths of 217 people and injuries to 436 others. According to the Houthis, most of the casualties are women and children.
