The Yemeni Foreign Ministry Denies Selling its Embassy Building in Somalia and Affirms State Ownership

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
The Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs has denied the validity of what has been circulated on social media regarding the sale of the Yemeni embassy building in the Somali capital, Mogadishu.
The ministry stated in a statement issued on Sunday that it had followed with interest these circulating allegations, stressing that the building remains the property of the Yemeni government and has not been sold or disposed of in any way.
It pointed out that the Yemeni embassy recently moved to a new headquarters in Mogadishu, while the previous building remains among the official properties of the state.
The ministry praised the citizens’ interest and keenness to follow up on public funds issues, reiterating its commitment to transparency and the protection of Yemen’s properties abroad.
Media outlets had circulated news stating that Yemeni citizens went to the embassy headquarters and found that it had become a hospital and a pharmacy.
