Governor of Hadramawt Emphasizes the Importance of Enhancing Customs Revenues to Support Development in The Governorate

Member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Hadramawt, Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, emphasized on Tuesday the importance of enhancing customs revenues and improving collection efficiency to contribute to supporting development projects and improving basic services in the governorate.
This came during his meeting in the city of Al-Mukalla with the Director General of the Customs Office on the Hadramawt Coast, Omar Abdulrahman Ba-Eis, and the Director General of the Al-Mukalla Port Customs, Habshi Abdo Naseeb, according to what was reported by the governorate’s media office.
During the meeting, Al-Khanbashi was briefed on the progress of work in the customs offices, the level of revenue collection, and the measures taken to facilitate the movement of goods and commercial exchange through the customs ports in the governorate.
The Governor stressed the need to redouble efforts to follow up and collect the revenues due in accordance with the laws and regulations in force, considering them an important resource to support development plans and improve services provided to citizens in various districts of the governorate.
He also called for raising the level of administrative and technical performance in customs ports and strengthening oversight and collection procedures to preserve public resources and develop local revenues, thereby contributing to achieving economic stability.
Al-Khanbashi affirmed the local authority’s eagerness to provide the necessary facilities to investors and merchants and to simplify procedures related to the movement of goods entering through land ports and the port of Al-Mukalla, in a way that enhances commercial activity and encourages investments.
He pointed out the importance of continuous coordination between the competent authorities to address difficulties that may face customs work, achieving a balance between facilitating trade procedures, enhancing collection efficiency, and protecting the national economy.
