Five Soldiers Injured in Houthi Attacks in Al-Dhalea

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

Five soldiers from the joint forces were injured on Monday in separate attacks carried out by the Houthi armed group on front lines in northern Al-Dhalea Governorate.

Military sources told Yemen Monitor that four soldiers sustained varying injuries as a result of Houthi artillery shelling that targeted military positions on the Al-Fakher Front north of the governorate.

The sources added that a fifth soldier was wounded by sniper fire from a Houthi fighter on the Batar Front, noting that Al-Dhalea’s front lines have witnessed intermittent clashes and exchanges of artillery fire between the two sides in recent days.

The incident comes just hours after five children were killed and several others seriously injured when an unexploded projectile reportedly left behind by the Houthis detonated in the Hajar area north of Al-Dhalea.

The northern and western fronts of Al-Dhalea Governorate continue to experience sporadic confrontations between the joint forces and Houthi fighters.
