A horrific crime that took place in the city of Buffalo, New York, has shaken the Yemeni community in the United States and abroad after four members of a Yemeni family were killed in an incident that sparked widespread grief and shock.
Over the past few hours, Yemeni activists and media outlets have circulated preliminary information about the case, in which Yemeni expatriate Saleh Al-Jaghmani is accused of killing Shukri Ali Saleh Al-Shaibah inside his business establishment before allegedly going to the victim’s home and killing his wife and two children.
Activists and human rights advocates said the incident represents a painful tragedy that has deeply affected the Yemeni community in Buffalo, leaving members of the community across the United States in a state of profound sorrow and disbelief.
They described the crime as a human tragedy that highlights the need for greater attention to the social and psychological conditions of some expatriates, while warning of the dangers posed by psychological pressures and behavioral problems that may impact family stability.
According to circulating reports, the suspect shot the victim inside his store and then went to his home, where he killed the victim’s wife and two children, before allegedly attempting to reach another individual but failing to do so.
The sources added that U.S. law enforcement authorities succeeded in arresting the suspect, while investigations continue to determine the circumstances and motives behind the crime.
