Death Of a Young Man and Injury of Two from The Same Family Due to A Shop Fire in Ibb Governorate

A young man died and two other people injured all from the same family as a result of a fire that broke out in a commercial shop in Al-Saddah District of Ibb Governorate (central Yemen), which is under the control of the Houthi group, according to local sources.

The sources said that a sudden fire broke out inside a shop owned by citizen Yasser Muhammad Naji Al-Ashwal in the village of Beit Al-Ashwal, belonging to the district.

They added that the young man, Hussam Ahmad Saleh Al-Haj, died at the scene of the accident after being trapped by flames and smoke inside the shop at the moment the fire broke out, preventing him from escaping.

The sources mentioned that the fire also resulted in the injury of Muhammad Yasser Al-Ashwal, the son of the shop owner, and his cousin, Abdul Mueen Muhammad Al-Ashwal, with minor wounds. They were transferred to medical centers to receive first aid and the necessary care.

The causes of the fire outbreak are not yet clear, and no information has been received regarding the volume of material losses resulting from the accident.

The incident comes amidst recurring fire accidents in a number of Yemeni governorates for various reasons, including electrical short circuits and the absence of safety measures.
