Saudi-UN Agreement Worth $3 Million To Enhance Protection Services for Displaced Persons and Refugees in Yemen

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) signed a joint executive program with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to enhance protection services for displaced and refugee families in Yemen, with a value exceeding $3 million, according to what the center announced yesterday.
The center stated that the program, which was signed via video conference, aims to benefit approximately 44,722 displaced persons and refugees in a number of Yemeni governorates.
Representing the King Salman Center at the signing was the Assistant Supervisor General for Operations and Programs, Engineer Ahmed bin Ali Al-Beez, while the UNHCR was represented by the Senior Advisor and Representative to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, Dr. Khaled Khalifa.
The program aims to provide legal assistance to displaced persons and refugees, support the voluntary return of refugees, and provide healthcare services to them in the governorates of Aden, Abyan, Al-Dhale’e, Al-Bayda, Al-Hudaidah, Al-Jawf, Al-Mahwit, Amanat Al-Asimah (the Capital Municipality), Amran, Dhamar, Hadramawt, Hajjah, Ibb, Lahj, Marib, Raymah, Sana’a, Shabwah, and Taiz.
The center explained that the program comes within the framework of the humanitarian and relief efforts implemented by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the King Salman Relief Center, with the goal of improving the conditions of refugees and displaced persons and providing them with livelihood requirements in various areas of asylum and displacement.
