Aden… Security Refers Circulating Social Media Incident to Public Prosecution for Investigation

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The Security Directorate of the temporary capital, Aden, announced on Friday the opening of an investigation into an incident circulating on social media platforms regarding allegations of an “indecent act,” confirming that the case file has been referred to the Public Prosecution to take the necessary legal measures.
The directorate stated, in a statement reviewed by “Yemen Monitor,” that the Director of Aden Security, Major General Mutahar Ali Naji Al-Shuaibi, directed the formation of a specialized team to follow up on the incident, verify all associated information and data, and urgently raise the case file to the competent judicial authorities.
The statement emphasized that the security apparatuses “will not tolerate any acts that infringe upon human and moral values or target children,” stressing that they will deal “with firmness and responsibility” with any incidents proven to be true, without exception for any person whose involvement is proven.
The Security Directorate called on citizens to cooperate with the competent authorities by reporting any incidents or providing information and evidence that may contribute to completing the investigations and taking legal action.
The directorate also urged social media users to exercise responsibility when addressing sensitive issues, and not to rush into publishing or circulating clips and information related to them outside of legal frameworks, warning of the psychological and social harm that may be inflicted upon the victims and their families.
It stressed that protecting victims and safeguarding their dignity represents a “collective responsibility,” confirming that handling such issues must be carried out through the competent authorities and via legal methods, away from defamation or media exploitation.
