SEYAJ Demands Investigation into Accusations of Rape, Filming, and Extortion of a Child in Aden

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
On Friday evening, “SEYAJ Organization for Childhood Protection” demanded that authorities open an urgent investigation into circulating accusations regarding a child subjected to sexual assault, extortion, and filming in the temporary capital, Aden, amid accusations that officers and personnel allegedly belonging to security apparatuses are behind the incident.
In a press release addressed to the Attorney General of the Republic, Judge Qaher Mustafa, and the Minister of Interior, Major General Ibrahim Haidan, the organization stated that it submitted an “urgent and official report” to demand an investigation into the case, which has sparked widespread public interaction.
It added that report No. (14/SJO/2026), dated May 22, 2026, demanded verification of the circulating information, human rights testimonies, and media reports regarding accusations of kidnapping a minor child, assaulting him, and filming him for the purpose of extortion and forcing him to submit to repeated violations.
The organization pointed out the existence of allegations regarding a network suspected of exploiting influence and authority to target boys, women, and girls during previous years under the cover of pursuing electronic extortion cases, calling for an independent and comprehensive investigation into the circulating facts and any similar cases that may be linked to them.
“SEYAJ” demanded the formation of an investigation committee from outside the entities that were managing the security file in Aden during the past period, expanding the investigations, and urgently referring those involved—if the accusations are proven—to the judiciary.
It also called for taking legal measures against the suspects, providing legal protection for the victims and their families, ensuring a safe environment for submitting complaints and statements, in addition to providing free psychological and health support to the child involved in the report and any other victims that the investigations may reveal.
According to the report, copies of it were sent to a number of official bodies, including the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, the Office of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Human Rights, the National Committee to Investigate Allegations of Human Rights Violations, and the competent judicial authorities in Aden.
No official comment has been issued yet by the relevant authorities regarding what was stated in the report.
