Presidential Council Member Al-Khanbashi Affirms Continued Efforts to Integrate “Hadramawt Protection Forces” into Army and Security

Member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Hadramawt, Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, met today, Saturday, in the city of Mukalla, with a delegation from the General Command of the “Hadramawt Protection Forces,” headed by Sheikh Amr bin Habrish, to discuss the files of integrating the forces’ personnel into the army and security institutions.

The Media Center of the Hadramawt Protection Forces quoted Al-Khanbashi as affirming the keenness of the local authority and the Presidential Council to give special attention to the file of arranging the force’s status, and his direct follow-up with the relevant authorities to unify the institutional structure of the armed forces.

Al-Khanbashi warned against any violations or individual actions that might be issued by any military or security commander toward members of the Hadramawt Protection Forces, which support the security and police on the province’s coast. He stressed that any violations will be dealt with firmly in accordance with military regulations and laws, and anyone proven to be involved in infringing upon the rights or dignity of the personnel will be held accountable.

The Presidential Leadership Council member also expressed readiness to form a joint committee tasked with assessing the damages and violations suffered by members of the Hadramawt Protection Forces and the Popular Resistance by what he described as “hostile forces,” and submitting reports on them to address their conditions and render justice to those affected, in a reference to the clashes with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council forces last December.

According to the Media Center, Al-Khanbashi discussed with the delegation the mechanism for implementing the minutes of the agreement signed between the local authority and the Hadramawt  Tribal Alliance on December 3, 2025, under Saudi sponsorship, and the deployment of specialized committees to the force’s sites on the plateau, foremost of which is the committee for officially registering and framing the force’s personnel, and the committee for completing the procedures of the “Saudi Incentive.”

During the meeting, Al-Khanbashi listened to a detailed briefing from the head of the delegation and Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Security Affairs, Brigadier General Muhammad Awadh Al-Oraibi, which addressed the level of readiness and discipline of the forces and the challenges they face, in addition to receiving statistics with the names of the martyrs and the wounded.

Al-Khanbashi directed following up with the leadership of the Arab Coalition to complete the procedures for treating the wounded abroad and to provide care for the Popular Resistance to ensure the improvement of their living and administrative conditions, emphasizing that the formed committee will remain in continuous follow-up with the local authority and the Coalition to guarantee the implementation of the required remedies.
