Hadramawt Approves Solar Energy Project for 12 Government and Educational Facilities in Mukalla

The Main Tenders Committee in Hadramawt Governorate, eastern Yemen, approved on Sunday a project to supply and install solar energy systems for 12 government and educational facilities in the city of Mukalla, as part of efforts to enhance public services and rely on renewable energy sources.

This came during a committee meeting chaired by Member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Hadramawt, Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, in the presence of the Deputy Governor of the Governorate, Hassan Al-Jilani, and committee members, according to a statement issued by the Governor’s Media Office.

According to the statement, the project also includes lighting the streets adjacent to the targeted facilities, with the aim of reducing the impacts of power outages and improving the level of services provided to citizens.

The committee also approved referring a project to construct and restore training halls at the Commercial Technical Institute in the Fuwwah area to the specialized technical committee to complete the technical review and provide the necessary feedback, ahead of re-submitting it to the main committee for a final decision.

The meeting discussed a number of service and development projects currently being implemented in the governorate, alongside stalled projects and the challenges facing their progress.

Al-Khanbashi stressed the importance of addressing obstacles and accelerating the pace of project implementation to ensure the achievement of development and service goals according to the approved plans and programs.
