Yemeni Ministry of Defense Oversees Handover Ceremony at the Fourth Military Region Command

The temporary capital, Aden, hosted a handover ceremony today, Tuesday, for the leadership of the Fourth Military Region of the Yemeni Army between the outgoing and incoming commands. The process was overseen by a committee from the Ministry of Defense led by the Deputy Inspector General of the Armed Forces, Major General Misfer Al-Harthy.
The ceremony was conducted in accordance with established military procedures, where the new regional commander, Major General Hamdi Shukri, officially assumed his duties from the former commander, Lieutenant General Fadl Hassan.
During the ceremony, Major General Al-Harthy emphasized that this step is part of the Ministry of Defense’s efforts to develop leadership performance and enhance combat readiness. He praised the discipline accompanying the leadership transition, describing it as a “model of military responsibility.”
For his part, Major General Hamdi Shukri expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by the previous leadership. He affirmed his determination to continue working with a unified team spirit to bolster security and stability and to develop institutional performance within the Fourth Military Region’s jurisdiction.
The Fourth Military Region is considered one of the most vital sectors of the Yemeni Army. It is headquartered in Aden, and its operational authority covers the governorates of Aden, Lahj, Abyan, Al-Dhale, and Taiz.
