Defense Minister From Marib: Armed Forces Are At High Readiness And Performing Tasks Efficiently

The Yemeni Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Taher Al-Aqili, held an expanded meeting today with military and security leaders in Marib Governorate to discuss the conditions of the Armed Forces personnel.

The Minister was briefed on the field situation and the needs of army units in Marib, emphasizing the commitment to overcoming difficulties facing the military forces, especially those stationed on the front lines confronting the Houthi militias backed by the Iranian regime.

Minister Al-Aqili stated, “We will be your voice in meeting your needs within a framework of transparency, clarity, oversight, and accountability.” He noted that the field performance of the Armed Forces is a source of pride and honor, and that they are at high readiness to carry out their duties under various conditions. During the meeting, which included the Chief of General Staff and Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Sagheer bin Aziz, Al-Aqili praised the steadfastness of the heroes of the Armed Forces across various fronts, affirming his appreciation for their sacrifices on the front lines in defense of the Republic and dignity.

The Defense Minister conveyed to the attendees the greetings of the senior political and military leadership, represented by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, as well as the members of the Council and Prime Minister Shaya Al-Zindani.

The Defense Minister stressed the importance of raising the level of readiness and preparedness, and working with sincerity and dedication to complete the liberation battle. He affirmed the Ministry leadership’s keenness to overcome obstacles and provide the necessary resources, describing Marib as the “key to victory” due to its strategic importance.

He pointed to the efforts made by the government in the path of reforms and the organization of strategic sectors, noting the improvement in performance during the recent period and the unification of political decision-making under the leadership of the Presidential Leadership Council.

The Defense Minister expressed his thanks and appreciation to the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its continued support to Yemen in various fields, renewing the Yemeni government’s firm stance alongside the Kingdom as it faces barbaric Iranian aggression.

For his part, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior emphasized the importance of integration between the military and security apparatuses and the local authority in Marib Governorate.

The Undersecretary of Marib Governorate, Abdullah Al-Bakri, and the Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Muhammad bin Abboud, welcomed the Defense Minister and his accompanying delegation, stressing the importance of the visit in enhancing coordination and reviewing the military and security conditions in the governorate.

The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Major General Dr. Qaid Atef, undersecretaries of Marib Governorate, regional commanders, and a number of military and security leaders.

The Defense Minister arrived in Marib this morning coming from Hadramawt, where he conducted a field visit to the First and Second Military Regions deployed in the coast and valley of Hadramawt in eastern Yemen.
