“Dissolved” STC Calls for Escalation in Aden

Yemen Monitor / Aden / Exclusive:

The Southern Transitional Council (STC)—referred to as “dissolved”—has issued calls for what it termed “peaceful popular and mass escalation in response to attempts to impose guardianship by force of arms.”

Media outlets affiliated with the STC reported on Saturday that the council in Aden launched a general call for peaceful escalation, urging loyalists to take to the streets and protest in Aden. This marks a return to escalation just days after moving its demonstrations to Radfan.

This development follows a day of violence in the city of Seiyun, resulting from a protest that attempted to storm the Seiyun Palace and the airport gate while raising secessionist flags. This led to gunfire from the gate guards, though no casualties were reported.

Additionally, the Security Committee in the Hadramout Valley announced that it would “strike with an iron fist” anyone who considers undermining security and stability in the valley.
