Yemeni Government Expands Digital Services for the Commercial Sector, Integrates Public Reports with an Electronic Platform

Yemen’s Minister of Industry and Trade, Mohammed Al-Ashwal, said the government is working to strengthen the enforcement of laws governing the commercial sector and accelerate procedures for resolving commercial violations, while expanding digital services and integrating them with electronic platforms designed to improve the handling of public reports.
Al-Ashwal made the remarks during a meeting in the interim capital, Aden, with Dr. Al-Qubati, Deputy Prosecutor for Industry and Trade, to discuss ways to enhance coordination between the two institutions and improve mechanisms for enforcing commercial legislation.
According to discussions at the meeting, the ministry is preparing to launch a smart artificial intelligence-powered program through WhatsApp, enabling citizens to access the ministry’s services across various sectors. The system will be integrated with the RASAD electronic platform for submitting and tracking public complaints, with the aim of speeding up case processing and improving the efficiency of government services.
The meeting also reviewed progress on commercial cases, with data showing that more than 400 cases have been resolved as part of broader efforts to curb commercial violations and strengthen compliance with market regulations.
Al-Ashwal said the ministry will continue conducting field visits to Industry and Trade offices across Yemen’s governorates to assess their performance and identify operational needs. He emphasized that coordination with the Industry and Trade Prosecution is a key component of strengthening market oversight and protecting consumers.
For her part, the Deputy Prosecutor for Industry and Trade stressed the importance of expanding institutional cooperation with the ministry to accelerate litigation procedures in commercial cases and ensure more effective enforcement of existing legislation, thereby reinforcing the rule of law and promoting greater discipline and transparency in the business environment.
