Yemenia Airways announced today the launch of a new direct air route linking King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah with Socotra International Airport, in a move aimed at enhancing air connectivity and stimulating tourism and economic activity in the archipelago.
Raed Al-Juraibi, Deputy Governor of Socotra Governorate, said that the inauguration of this route represents a new opportunity to revive tourism on the island, pointing to its unique natural features that make Socotra an attractive global destination for visitors.
For her part, Ahlam Al-Hamed, Yemenia Airways’ Regional Manager in Socotra, noted that the opening of the Jeddah–Socotra route marks a qualitative leap in air transportation for the archipelago, expressing hope to expand the network of international flights in the coming period.
