Yemeni Government Approves Structural Reforms and Directs Raising Combat Readiness

The Yemeni government approved today, Monday, the formation of a Higher Committee for Comprehensive Institutional Reform to raise the efficiency of the state’s civil apparatus and achieve financial sustainability. It also approved the multi-sectoral nutrition action plan for the period from 2025 to 2030 to confront the spread of malnutrition in the country.
This came during a meeting held by the Cabinet in the temporary capital, Aden, chaired by the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Shayea Mohsen Al-Zindani, to discuss the latest developments in political, military, and service conditions.
The government announced the success of the networking process linking the Central Bank branch in Marib Governorate with the bank’s main headquarters in Aden, as part of the economic reform program.
The meeting reviewed a report by the Minister of Industry and Trade confirming the stability of basic food commodity stocks and the continuation of monitoring campaigns to control prices and prevent monopoly and overpricing, alongside adopting a cooperation agreement with the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen, and ratifying a technical cooperation agreement in the field of civil aviation with the Kingdom of Morocco.
In response to the escalation by the Houthis, the government directed raising the level of military readiness and combat preparedness across various axes and fronts, praising the vigilance of the armed forces, security, and national resistance in thwarting the group’s plans, and holding them fully responsible for undermining peace opportunities and deepening the humanitarian crisis.
The Cabinet condemned the blatant Iranian violations of Yemeni sovereignty, the latest of which was operating direct flights to Sana’a Airport, which is under Houthi control, describing it as a dangerous escalation and a flagrant violation of international resolutions.
The Council also denounced the Houthi threats directed at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, calling on the international community and the Security Council to take practical and deterrent measures to dry up the group’s sources of funding and armament, and to stop the Iranian interventions that threaten regional and international security.
