Tripartite Meeting in Tehran Involving Iran, Saudi Arabia, and China Emphasizes Need for Comprehensive Political Solution to Yemen Crisis

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
Iran, Saudi Arabia, and China held a joint meeting in Tehran, with a significant portion dedicated to discussing developments in the Yemeni crisis and ways to advance the stalled peace process.
The three countries affirmed that ending the war in Yemen can only be achieved through a comprehensive political path based on international references and conducted under the direct supervision of the United Nations.
The participants emphasized that the understandings resulting from the Beijing Agreement between Riyadh and Tehran in 2023 constitute an important foundation for creating a climate conducive to stabilizing Yemen. They also stressed the importance of regional cooperation in supporting any efforts aimed at de-escalation and paving the way for constructive negotiations among the Yemeni parties.
The three countries also reaffirmed their commitment to providing a suitable environment for the success of the political track, considering that peace in Yemen is a key element for achieving stability in the entire region. Iran praised Saudi and Chinese support for any steps that enhance the truce and prepare the ground for intra-Yemeni dialogue.
This meeting is part of a series of engagements aimed at following up on the implementation of the Beijing Agreement, which is viewed as an influential factor in enhancing the chances of reaching a genuine settlement to end the years-long war.
