STC Forces Prevent Hadramawt Governor and Saudi Delegation from Reaching Seiyun

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
Southern Transitional Council (STC) forces on Sunday prevented the Governor of Hadramawt (eastern Yemen) and the head of the Saudi delegation from reaching Wadi Hadramawt, where a series of large meetings were scheduled to take place in Seiyun.
Journalist Ameen Barfaid posted on his Facebook account that Hadramawt Governor Salem Al-Khanbashi and the head of the Saudi delegation, Major General Mohammed Al-Qahtani, who leads the Special Committee, returned to Mukalla after being blocked earlier this morning from passing toward Seiyun.
The blockage occurred at a “military checkpoint” belonging to STC forces in the Al-Sahima area, located between Al-Adwas and Al-Ulayb.
Barfaid explained that Al-Khanbashi and Al-Qahtani were scheduled to arrive in Seiyun to hold extensive meetings with official and popular bodies in Wadi Hadramawt. He noted that Seiyun Airport was also closed to prevent their aerial arrival, forcing them to travel by land, where they were subsequently blocked and had to return to Mukalla.
The Saudi delegation had arrived on Wednesday, December 3rd, and had brokered an agreement between the local authority in Hadramawt and the Tribal Alliance, leading to a withdrawal from Petromasila and the normalization of the situation in Hadramawt’s coast. During their stay, the Saudi delegation also held broad meetings with dignitaries, sheikhs, and political leaders in Mukalla.
