During Visit to Their Protest Camp… Popular Resistance in Taiz Demands Urgent Solutions for the Wounded File

Yemen Monitor / Taiz / Exclusive:
A delegation from the Supreme Council of the Popular Resistance in Taiz governorate (southwest Yemen) carried out a solidarity visit to the protest camp of wounded soldiers in the city center. The aim was to assess their conditions and support their demands, which the wounded describe as “deserved rights” after years of fighting in defense of the Republic.
During the visit, the delegation listened to the primary demands of the wounded. These foremost include completing medical treatment, resolving financial statuses, disbursing overdue entitlements, and providing necessary official care. The Council’s delegation stated that the situation that forced the wounded to protest is “unacceptable,” considering it unfitting for those who shed their blood and lost parts of their bodies to have to demand their most basic rights in front of the relevant authorities.
The delegation called on the government and concerned entities to deal with the file of the wounded swiftly and place it at the top of priorities, as it is a national and humanitarian responsibility that cannot be postponed. It indicated that the wounded of Taiz represent a fundamental pillar of national resilience in confronting the Houthis, and that caring for them is a duty that cannot be overlooked.
For their part, the protesting wounded soldiers expressed their appreciation for the step taken by the Supreme Council of the Popular Resistance, affirming that the visit represents moral support and a message confirming that their cause remains present. The wounded also extended their thanks to the Council’s head, Sheikh Hamoud Saeed Al-Mikhlafi, for what they described as his continuous attention to the file of the wounded.
