Yemeni Prime Minister: Germany is a Trusted Partner in the Battle to Save the Yemeni Economy

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

In a meeting that reflected the depth of the challenges facing the Yemeni government, Yemeni Prime Minister Salem Saleh Bin Braik stressed that economic reforms are no longer a political luxury or an administrative procedure, but have become the state’s option for survival in the face of the financial and service collapse left by years of war.

During his meeting with the German Ambassador to Yemen, Thomas Schneider, in the temporary capital, Aden, Bin Braik affirmed that the success of the reform plan approved by the government largely depends on the support of trusted allies, foremost among them Germany. He praised the firm German position in supporting the legitimate government and backing efforts for stability.

The Prime Minister indicated that the government is taking practical steps to correct the course of public finances and improve resource management, as part of a comprehensive direction aimed at transforming international support from emergency relief to sustainable development and institution-building, noting that this requires effective partnerships with friendly nations and supporting organizations.

For his part, Ambassador Thomas Schneider affirmed his country’s keenness to continue supporting Yemen in the path of reforms and strengthening state institutions, noting that Germany is following the government’s efforts to address the economic situation and achieve stability with interest.

This meeting serves as a dual political and economic message from the Yemeni government, confirming that its real battle today is not only against the effects of war, but also for saving the state and restoring its capacity for survival through genuine economic reform based on confidence and international partnership.
