Shabwa Appellate Court Reserves the Case of Sheikh Al-Bani’s Assassination for Verdict

The Appellate Court of Shabwa governorate decided today, Wednesday, during its ninth session to consider the case of the assassination of Sheikh Abdullah bin Abdullah Al-Bani, to reserve the case for sentencing.
During the session, the defense lawyer for the accused, Salah Al-Dayani, submitted a memorandum requesting the addition of other defendants. Subsequently, lawyers Abdulsalam Al-Subaihi and Abdullah Al-Areef submitted a memorandum that included a challenge to the witnesses presented by the defense lawyers in the previous session, citing contradictions in their statements.
The second accused, Abdulhakim Mathanna, then requested that his mobile phone be brought forward and that the calls between him and the Director General of Bayhan District, the Security Director of Bayhan, and the Endowments Director of Bayhan be reviewed. When asked about the content of the calls, he stated that the Endowments Director of Bayhan, Ahmed Al-Za’abah, had instructed him to withdraw Sheikh Al-Bani and remove him from the prayer hall.
The lawyers for the plaintiffs, Abdulsalam Al-Subaihi and Abdullah Al-Areef, the lawyer for the first accused, Hussein Al-Jabwani, and the lawyer for the second accused, Khaled Habtoor, submitted a request to reserve the case for sentencing and to consider the proceedings of the previous sessions as sufficient.
The session was then adjourned, attended by the father of the martyr, Sheikh Abdullah Abdrabbuh Al-Bani, his children, brothers, and relatives, as well as a gathering of notables, dignitaries, and citizens from Shabwa governorate.
