Taiz Police Arrest Seven Suspects Involved in Two Separate Extortion Cases

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
Security agencies in Taiz Governorate have arrested seven individuals accused of involvement in two separate extortion cases, as part of the ongoing efforts by the governorate’s police to combat crime and protect society from harmful practices.
Director of Criminal Investigation, Colonel Jamil Al-Salhi, explained that investigation teams are continuing to gather evidence in both cases in preparation for referring them to the Public Prosecution. He noted that investigations revealed that one of the accused in the second case had leaked photos and clips via social media before fleeing to areas under militia control, even before the Criminal Investigation Department received the official report of the case.
Al-Salhi emphasized that Taiz Police will not tolerate any attempts to undermine societal values or disrupt its security and stability, urging citizens to cooperate and report any suspicious practices that threaten social peace.
The governorate’s police also called on social media users to uphold moral responsibility and refrain from circulating or publishing leaked materials due to their negative impact on society. They affirmed that security agencies continue to carry out their duties in pursuing and arresting those involved in extortion crimes with full determination.
