Al Jaber Discusses Latest Humanitarian Situation in Yemen with UN Under-Secretary-General

The Saudi Ambassador to Yemen and Supervisor of the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen (SDRPY), Mohammed Al Jaber, discussed the latest humanitarian and development updates in Yemen today in Riyadh with the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Tom Fletcher.

Ambassador Al Jaber affirmed the importance of the partnership with UN and international organizations, stressing the need to continue joint work to fulfill the aspirations of the brotherly Yemeni people and enhance opportunities for comprehensive progress and sustainable development in the neighboring Republic of Yemen.

For his part, the UN official praised Saudi support for Yemen in the development fields, health, education sectors, and others, adding that these projects constitute an essential building block for Yemen’s future.

The meeting touched upon the economic and development support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the latest of which was the announcement in September 2025 to provide (1.3) billion Saudi Riyals designated to support the government’s budget, petroleum derivatives, and the health sector, in accordance with governance that supports the Yemeni government’s efforts in implementing economic reforms.
