Head Of the Yemeni Presidential Council Arrives in Doha for Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
DOHA – Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, Chairman of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, arrived today in the Qatari capital of Doha to attend an emergency Arab-Islamic summit. He was accompanied by council member Sultan Al-Arada.
The summit will address the fallout from the recent Israeli attack on Qatar. Its goal is to create a unified stance against flagrant violations of international law and the sovereignty of regional nations.
Upon their arrival at Hamad International Airport, Al-Alimi and Al-Arada were welcomed by Qatar’s Minister of Culture, Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani, along with the Yemeni ambassador to Doha, Rajih Badi, and other senior Qatari officials.
In a statement to the Yemeni news agency, Al-Alimi praised Qatar’s efforts in preparing for the summit. He described the meeting as a pivotal moment for coordinating Arab and Islamic positions and expanding joint action to confront current challenges, particularly what he called “Israeli arrogance” and its continuous violations against the Palestinian people and its escalatory policy in the region.
Al-Alimi expressed his hope that the summit would produce firm resolutions to deter Israeli aggression and confirm full support for the Palestinian people’s right to establish their own independent, sovereign state.
He also reiterated Yemen’s condemnation of the Israeli attack on Doha, calling it a “blatant aggression against the sovereignty of the sisterly state of Qatar and a clear violation of international law and the UN Charter.”
The Chairman concluded by affirming Yemen’s solidarity with Qatar’s leadership, government, and people, and its support for Qatar’s legitimate right to protect the security and safety of its citizens and residents.
