Taiz Records Significant Increase in Cancer Patients During First Half of 2025

The National Foundation for Cancer Control – Taiz announced in a press statement a significant increase in the number of new cancer patients registered at the Al-Amal Cancer Treatment Center during the first half of 2025. The number of new cases reached 884, originating from Taiz Governorate and neighboring governorates.

The semi-annual report issued by the foundation indicated that the number of patient visits to the center during the same period reached 42,592 attendances. The center provided 217,812 free services, which included chemotherapy sessions, medical examinations, surgical operations, diagnostic radiography, medication dispensing, and other vital services.

Mukhtar Ahmed Saeed, the Director-General of the Foundation, affirmed that the center is facing increasing pressure due to the rise in cases and limited resources, which impacts the volume of services provided. He appealed to government agencies, humanitarian organizations, the private sector, and philanthropists to support the center to ensure its continuity and expand its free services for cancer patients.

In conclusion, the National Foundation for Cancer Control reaffirmed its commitment to providing the best possible care for those affected, despite the challenges and difficult circumstances. It called for concerted community and humanitarian efforts to stand by cancer patients in Taiz and Yemen in general.
