Yemeni Presidential Council Member “Al-Alimi” Discusses Iranian Interventions in Yemen with British Official

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

Member of Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Abdullah al-Alimi, affirmed that true peace and sustainable sovereignty in Yemen cannot be achieved through a ceasefire alone, but rather require building a strong and just state that prevents the recurrence of new cycles of conflict.

This came during his meeting with Sir Alan Campbell, Leader of the British House of Commons, where he reviewed the legitimate Yemeni leadership’s vision for a comprehensive solution and its stance on recent regional developments, as well as discussing ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The Presidential Leadership Council member warned of the danger of Tehran’s recent external maneuvers, considering them an attempt to impose a fait accompli through violations of Yemen’s air sovereignty.

He described Iranian interventions as a reckless behavior toward regional security and international law, while affirming that the Yemeni government will take all necessary measures to protect the country’s security, stability, and sovereignty.

Al-Alimi praised the bilateral relations between the two countries, highly commending the pivotal role played by friends in the United Kingdom and their ongoing efforts to support the Yemeni government across various political, diplomatic, and developmental fronts.
