Yemen Confirms Houthi Violations Are Documented in United Nations Reports

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The Republic of Yemen confirmed that violations committed by the Houthi group against civilians are documented in United Nations reports and international human rights reports.
Yemen’s representative to the Human Rights Council explained during the general debate under Item 4 of the Council’s 61st session that the Houthi group has committed various violations against the Yemeni people, including indiscriminate killings, torture, the forced recruitment of children, and the targeting of civilians and humanitarian facilities.
The representative—who also serves as the Deputy Minister of Human Rights—pointed out that the Houthi group, which is supported by the Iranian regime, represents a direct threat to regional peace and security, as well as international navigation. He said the group is also a tool for undermining Yemen’s sovereignty and stability, disrupting essential services, and obstructing the delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need.
The Republic of Yemen reaffirmed its commitment to working with regional and international partners to strengthen security, stability, and human rights in Yemen and across the region. It also condemned Iranian interference in the affairs of other countries and its support for armed groups that commit serious violations against their own populations.
Yemen also denounced the repeated attacks on critical infrastructure in Gulf countries and other brotherly Arab states, including oil facilities, airports, and ports, warning that such attacks expose civilians to direct danger and push the region toward broader escalation.
Finally, the Republic of Yemen called on the international community to ensure respect for international law by all parties without discrimination, guarantee accountability for committed crimes, and criminalize violations of state sovereignty and interference in internal affairs.
