Arab League: New Yemeni Government Is a Step Toward Strengthening State Institutions

The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, welcomed the announcement of the formation of a new government in Yemen headed by Shaea Al-Zandani, affirming that this step represents a necessity for enhancing the effectiveness of state institutions and improving the delivery of basic services to citizens.
In a statement issued today, Monday, the Arab League praised the efforts of Yemen’s political forces to unite and cooperate in accelerating the announcement of the new government formation, despite the difficult circumstances facing Yemen and the region.
The statement explained that the new government will contribute to moving forward with the required economic reforms and strengthening the role of the state in providing essential services, reflecting the government’s commitment to confronting multiple challenges and achieving institutional stability.
The Secretary-General renewed the Arab League’s position in support of Yemen’s unity and sovereignty, rejecting any interference in its internal affairs, while stressing the international community’s commitment to alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people and ensuring the continuation of humanitarian support.
