Yemen Monitor / Aden / Exclusive:
Saudi military advisor Major General (Staff) Falah Al-Shahrani, Advisor to the Joint Forces, affirmed that the presence of the Joint Forces Command delegation of the Coalition in the temporary capital, Aden, carries a message of reassurance and full support for all residents of the city and the southern governorates. He stressed that the coming phase will focus on consolidating security as the primary foundation for comprehensive development efforts.
In a speech delivered during his meeting with military and security leaders in Aden on Tuesday, Major General Al-Shahrani explained that his visit, heading a coalition delegation, aims to reaffirm the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s enduring support for its brothers in Aden, Al-Dhalea, Abyan, Lahj, and all Yemeni regions.
He noted that these moves reflect the depth of partnership and commitment to achieving stability that citizens can directly feel on the ground.
Al-Shahrani added: “We are here to emphasize the importance of security and stability in these areas, so that a new phase of development can begin and people’s urgent needs can be addressed.” He pointed out that the principles contained in the Saudi Minister of Defense’s message to the Yemeni people constitute a clear “roadmap” for the upcoming phase.
Regarding the security file within the temporary capital, the Saudi military advisor revealed details of his meeting with Aden International Airport security officials, during which the need to preserve the airport’s civilian character was emphasized to ensure the continuity of services to citizens, away from military tensions.
Al-Shahrani said: “We will work with everyone and will never exclude anyone, because our goal is the stability of these areas and the start of their development. We affirm the inclusion of all pre-existing military formations and working with them, and none of their rights will be diminished.”
He stressed the coalition’s firm position on the necessity of the “withdrawal of all military forces and armed manifestations from the city of Aden,” and the generalization of this step to the rest of the governorates, in order to enable civil and security institutions to perform their duties in a stable environment.
He said: “We stress the importance of maintaining the civilian nature of Aden Airport, which serves the people, and the importance of the withdrawal of all military forces and armed manifestations from the city of Aden, as well as from the rest of the governorates.”
On the political file and military formations, Major General Al-Shahrani confirmed that the coalition adopts an open-door policy, stating: “We will work with everyone and will never exclude anyone.” He noted that the ultimate goal is to achieve the objectives of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in stabilizing and rebuilding the region.
In an important reference to the political track, Al-Shahrani stated that the “just Southern Cause” will be strongly present for discussion and examination within the corridors of the Riyadh Conference. At the same time, he affirmed that the coalition will work to contain all existing military formations and guarantee the rights of their members, in implementation of Saudi leadership directives.
The Saudi military advisor concluded his remarks by stressing the continuation of the war on terrorism, affirming that the coalition will continue to support all forces confronting terrorist organizations and working to secure the governorates.
He also called on citizens to enhance awareness during this “sensitive phase” of Yemen’s history, noting that the success of security and development plans largely depends on community cooperation and its understanding of the importance of the stage, to ensure a future marked by stability and prosperity.
