Mass Gathering Joins Honorary Consul Mohammed al-Mashhari in Mourning His Martyred Daughter Iftihan in Taiz

Yemen Monitor / Taiz / Newsroom:
The Honorary Consul of Yemen in Turkey, Mohammed al-Mashhari, on Thursday received large crowds of mourners following the death of his daughter, the martyr Iftihan al-Mashhari, at the sit-in camp on Jamal Street in central Taiz, southwest Yemen.
The camp witnessed a broad presence of community leaders, social and political figures, activists, and citizens, who all expressed full solidarity with the martyr’s family and renewed demands for the swift arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators.
Zaid Mohammed al-Mashhari, the martyr’s brother, told Yemen Monitor: “We will continue the sit-ins until all killers in Taiz are handed over and justice is served for the blood of the martyrs. We will stand firm with the people of this city until it is purged of criminals and corrupt figures.”
It is worth noting that since Iftihan’s assassination, her memorial sit-in camp has become a daily gathering point for protests, where families of victims of insecurity, along with supporters, continue to demand the immediate arrest of wanted individuals and an end to impunity. The incident has sparked a wave of public outrage across Taiz.
