Seven fatalities and several injuries in traffic accidents in Shabwa and Abyan

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:

On Monday, the governorates of Shabwa and Abyan experienced a series of horrific traffic accidents that resulted in seven deaths and several injuries, with most incidents attributed to speeding.

In Shabwa, the Osilan government hospital received the bodies of three citizens (two men and one woman) who died when their “Hilux” vehicle overturned on the Osilan-Al-Oqla road in the Arma district. The 30-year-old driver sustained moderate injuries. Preliminary investigations suggest that excessive speed was the cause of the accident.

In Abyan, the Ahwar district witnessed a collision between a “Hilux” car driven by a man in his sixties and a passenger bus carrying travelers from Hadramout. The crash resulted in the death of two women in their twenties and injuries of varying severity to four other people. The traffic police also attributed this accident to speeding.
