Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
Yemenia Airways announced on Friday that it has obtained the necessary permits from Saudi authorities to transport approximately 2,000 pilgrims from Sana’a International Airport, starting Saturday, May 24, 2025. The flights will depart using the only remained single aircraft, despite the technical challenges facing the Houthi-controlled airport.
In an official statement, the company said, “The Hajj flights will start after coordination with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Civil Aviation,” emphasizing its commitment to providing the best services to the pilgrims, despite limited resources and airport conditions.
Yemenia Airways added that it is “working around the clock to secure the flight schedule and facilitate the travel process, urging pilgrims to understand any potential delays due to the high demand during the Hajj season and the limited infrastructure.”
