Historic Meeting of Yemeni Resistance in Taiz Calls for Intensifying Military Action and Ending the Coup

The first consultative meeting of Yemen’s Popular Resistance Councils since the outbreak of the war was held in Taiz, with the participation of local and military leaders. The meeting aimed to break the political and military stalemate.

Participants discussed ways to support the national army and confront the Houthis, emphasizing that ending the coup and disarming the Houthi group is the fundamental solution to the crisis.

In a video address, Sheikh Hamoud Al-Mikhlafi, head of the Supreme Resistance Council, stressed the need to activate the role of the resistance and raise its readiness for liberation battles, noting that citizens in occupied areas are looking forward to their liberation.

Secretary-General Mohammed Azzam emphasized that restoring the state requires broad popular support for the legitimate government and rejected “superficial” solutions to the Red Sea crisis.

The meeting’s concluding recommendations called for escalating resistance activities and enhancing coordination between provinces, urging political forces to unite in support of the military campaign as the only viable path to end the conflict.

Owsan Mohammed Saeed, a women’s representative, highlighted the role of Yemeni women in the struggle against the Houthis, affirming that victory is impossible without their participation.

In a speech by the local authority, Major General Abdulkarim Al-Subari praised Taiz’s role in confronting the Houthi project, while Advisory Council member Mohsen Khasrouf called for unifying national efforts.

The meeting was the culmination of a month of preparations, with participants affirming their readiness to complete the liberation process.
