Yemeni Army Announces Reopening of Taiz Eastern Pass After Clashes with Houthis

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:

The media center of the Taiz military axis announced the reopening of the city’s eastern entrance after a short period of closure due to fierce clashes between Yemeni army forces and Houthi militants.

The center clarified in a statement that the clashes erupted following a failed infiltration attempt by the Houthi militia towards the army positions in the adjacent Al-Tashrifat camp near the crossing. The confrontations resulted in the death of 4 Houthi elements.

The center also indicated that the clashes, in which both sides used light and medium weapons, caused traffic disruption on the Taiz-Al-Houban line as a result of the group’s targeting of the line adjacent to the central bank with a barrage of gunfire.
