Taysir Al-Samai, the health media officer at the Ministry of Health office in Taiz Governorate, announced that 30 deaths from dengue fever were recorded in areas under the control of the internationally recognized government between January and June 2026.
Al-Samai explained that Aden Governorate recorded the highest number of deaths, with 15 cases, followed by Hadramawt with 7. Taiz and Lahj each reported 3 deaths, while two deaths were recorded in Shabwah.
He added that the total number of new dengue fever cases in government-controlled areas rose to 5,786 during the first six months of the year, as the disease continued to spread in several governorates.
