Yemen And Indonesia Discuss Activating the Joint Committee and Expanding Bilateral Cooperation

Yemen’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Salem Balfaqeh, discussed with a senior official at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs ways to activate the joint Yemeni-Indonesian committee and expand bilateral cooperation in a number of political and developmental fields.
The Yemeni Embassy stated that Balfaqeh met with the Director General for Asian, Pacific, and African Affairs at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Santo Darmosumarto, where both sides discussed mechanisms to strengthen relations between the two countries, including resuming political consultations and developing cooperation in the fields of higher education and culture, in addition to halal certificates.
The talks also addressed cooperation in humanitarian and developmental aspects, along with a proposal to open a consulate general for Indonesia in the temporary capital, Aden, in a step aimed at expanding diplomatic presence and enhancing consular services.
According to the embassy, both sides emphasized the importance of continuing coordination and working to develop bilateral relations in a way that serves the mutual interests of the two countries.
