Hadramawt Security Vows Firmness Against Sabotage Ahead of Anticipated Mukalla Protest

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The security forces of the Hadramawt coast have warned against any acts of sabotage or attacks on public facilities or private property, emphasizing that security agencies will deal firmly and forcefully—within the framework of the law—with any attempts to undermine security and stability in the governorate.
In a statement issued Tuesday, Hadramawt security clarified that public and private properties are rights protected by both Sharia and law. It stated that no form of assault or disruption of service facilities created to serve citizens will be permitted, coming just before a planned demonstration by the dissolved Southern Transitional Council (STC) in the city of Mukalla.
The statement stressed that any targeting of government facilities, public places, or personal property will be met with strict security measures. It noted that directives have been issued to all field units to monitor and apprehend anyone inciting or participating in acts of sabotage and to refer them immediately to the competent judicial authorities.
Hadramawt security confirmed that the criminal law imposes severe penalties on those involved in sabotage, including imprisonment and full financial compensation for damages. The statement pointed out that the security agencies possess the technical and field means necessary to identify and pursue those involved wherever they may be.
The statement called on citizens to fulfill their national responsibilities and cooperate with security agencies by reporting any suspicious movements or actions that threaten public peace, and to stand united to protect the security and stability of the governorate.
Hadramawt security concluded its statement by emphasizing that security and stability represent the foundation of a decent life, and that security agencies will remain in a state of constant vigilance to protect the homeland and its citizens.
These measures come within the context of reorganizing the administrative situation of the local authority in Hadramawt Governorate, following the escalation witnessed in the city of Seiyun over the past few days, and with the aim of strengthening security and stability in the governorate.
